CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

"dada,dada,dada"
"dada,dada,dada"
One serious phone call.

Because its Thursday night, Adam is gone and Kena is missing him. She decided to call him...

PAINTING!

We decided to have a little fun yesterday! While dada was out with the 'guys', after dinner before bath, I broke out the paints and we finger painted. I know most of you wouldn't dare let your almost one year old with paints and yes....it was crazy. But it sure helped the day go by a little faster!

A COMMON PHRASE IN OUR HOUSEHOLD

"Kena, get your finger out of your nose!!"
That is the phrase that is said the most in our house right now. Kena is turning more and more into a one year old.

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?

Why does it always happen when your husband leaves that is when your child decides to get sick? Why is that?

Kena, started yesterday, has diaherra. I thought that it would be better today. I was proven wrong when she woke up with it ALL over her bed! (thank you Melissa for the idea of double sheets!). I had to strip her down and run her into the bath tub. Of course she wanted to play, which she couldn't because I had to get her clean. She even had it in her hair!! UGH, not the best way to start a morning, but at least there is never a dull moment at the Cross household.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE...

I am thinking about doing my own blog. Not a fun 'family' blog, but one more about me. I have decided to go to a naturalopath for things, health wise, that I have struggled most of my life. This will more of a journal for you to see progress and if you might be interested in doing some life changes...

THE COUNT DOWN STARTS...

So this thursday the 17th, Adam will be leaving for Mexico with our high school youth group for a mission's trip. I haven't even had the chance to think about it until now and now I am nervous. I am so excited that he felt that God led him to go, however I am a scared. Its in a safe part of the country, but we can't even go a day without texting or calling each other. So for the next couple of days I will be avoiding any discussion about him leaving. Dada will leave a t-shirt and a picture for Kena to have while he is gone.

Please pray for the leaders and high schoolers while they are down there!

Now, onto fun stuff! Kena's birthday is FAST approaching! I went to a party store called "everything party" in Redmond on Thursday to pick up things for my friend's baby shower (Rhian's!) and also picked up a few things for Kena's party. We went with my friend Suzeann, which we call "Auntie Sue" since she is one of the people Kena doesn't cry with (besides family). A great time was had by all, going up and down each aisle looking at paper plates and confeddi. Who would have known that would be a blast!!

SOMETHING NEW...

So I decided to add one of those awesome playlist's to my blog (I got it from you Kjerste!). Its the most random selection of music, but if you know me its not a big surprise. Simply put, just a taste of what you might listen to if you were to come to my house.

The best..the poopsmith song. Its actually a children's song on one of Kena's cd's. My nephew, Noah thought it was hilarous....and I have to tell you, I do to!

I sit here listening to the loud boom of fireworks. We live just outside of Mill Creek city limits so we get a lot of fireworks. Mill Creek has a strict law against fireworks, signs posted everywhere. But HA, not Bothell (eventhough they are same zip.) We are so excited for our big neighborhood party! I spent the whole night cleaning the second bedroom for people to stay over night. Tomorow we will spend most of the morning cleaning up and getting ready for the 4th!

I wanted to plug a find a found! We are currently using the "Seventh Generation" dishwashing detergant and its FABULOUS! Its far better than my 'jet dry' tabs that I was using and you know you are not harming the earth. A little steps go a long way folks. Check it out!

CRAWLING???

Well, she has done it. I offically have a crawler! Our little Kena, in her own time, is now a crawler. She isn't your 'normal' crawler...its more gimpy. But we wouldn't expect anything less from her. Now, we really have to keep an eye on her since she seems to like cords and shoes. Over the last couple of days it seems that Kena has grown over night! Like crawling and kissing. She is really becoming her own person. Which makes this age so much fun!

Well gotta go chase her!

BABY KISSES...HOW SWEET IT IS...

Kena and Livvy in the playtent!
Someone buy this child a swing! She loves it!
Playing 'peeks' in the playtent
Atta girl...starting her reading of People magazine early!
SLAM DUNK!! Thats for you g'pa!
A quick update and some pictures (old and new!). Kena is starting to 'gimp' crawl. Thats all I have to say, we have video which I will post later.

Kena gave her first baby kiss last night! Mommy and Kena where playing on the floor and I said "kiss on the lips" which normally means that I kiss her on the lips. After I kissed her, she leaned in to 'kiss me'! It was the sweetest thing ever. So we spent the rest of the night having Kena kiss mommy or daddy!
